.uNLID. DANCE 2024: Returning from Singapore and Looking Ahead
We’ve just returned from an incredible experience at the Singapore International Dance Festival 2024, where ‘F5’ made its international debut! This marked our first performance outside Australia, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts to make this journey possible. The performance was a success, and we’re excited to bring back new knowledge, connections, and inspiration to Melbourne as we continue developing ‘F5’.
In Singapore, ‘F5’ resonated with the festival’s themes of tradition and modernity, offering a deep exploration of human experience, the paths we take, and how lives intersect. The audience response was overwhelmingly positive, and our dancers shared their reflections:
Bridget Lyte:
"Performing at the Singapore International Dance Festival was an unforgettable experience. Connecting with artists from around the world and exchanging ideas was inspiring. I feel renewed, both as a dancer and an artist."
Mollie Harrison:
"The energy in Singapore was contagious, and it was amazing to see how our work resonated with the audience. This experience deepened my understanding of how dance can bridge cultural differences and spark new conversations."
As we reflect on our time in Singapore, we’re excited to turn our focus to the next stage of ‘F5’s journey. On january 31st, 2025, we will be unveiling the next section of ‘F5’ in an evening performance at Arnold Street Studio. This new version will explore themes of the present, reflections on the future’s past, and how the self navigates its place in time.
We’re energized for the next phase of our creative journey and grateful for your continued support as we establish .UNLID. Dance Theatre as a prominent force in Melbourne and beyond.
